Choirs for Christmas Competition 2011

Now in its 13th year, the established RTÉ lyric fm Choirs for Christmas Competition invites choirs from all around to country to share their music making with lyric listeners throughout the Christmas Season. Choirs from all corners of Ireland competed in last year's celebration with some outstanding entries coming from Tipperary, Meath, Galway and Dublin. Entries were chosen for airplay on Niall Carroll's Classical Daytime 10-2pm on RTÉ lyric fm.

RTÉ lyric fm is pleased to announce the winners of the 13th Choirs for Christmas Competition 2011. The prize winner's were announced on Niall Carroll's Classical Daytime on Friday December 23rd

Hundreds of choirs from all around the country have been rehearsing and recording their entries for the Choirs for Christmas Competition.

RTÉ lyric fm would like to thank all the choirs who went to great trouble compiling their entries. Now, the time has come to share this choral music-making with the nation in the 13th RTÉ lyric fm Choirs for Christmas Competition.

This competition is above all a celebration of music-making that is at the heart of every community, so tune in to Niall Carroll's Classical Daytime 10am-2pm on RTÉ lyric fm to hear the the nation sing!
