Organisers of Ireland's food festival Harvest in conjunction with Flahavan's cooked up the World's largest bowl of porridge weighing in at 1380Kg last Sunday.

The official attempt was carried out on the Quayside in Waterford city at the Harvest Festival and is to be verified by Guinness in the coming weeks.

The huge breakfast of 1380kg of porridge exceeded the target of 914Kg, the year the city of Waterford was founded. During the process a specially-made bowl measuring 1.4 metres in height and 1.7 metres in diameter was used.
