Irish Ferries is telling rugby fans that travelling by ferry will be their best, low-cost travel route to Twickenham for the Heineken Cup final next month.
The company has recorded a huge surge in bookings after Leinster emerged victorious from their semi-final encounter with Clermont Auvergne. Ulster has secured the first final place on Saturday after they beat Edinburgh. They will be providing total ferry capacity on their Dublin - Holyhead and Rosslare - Pembroke routes amounting to nearly 8,000 passengers and 4,000 car spaces daily in each direction.
Spread across six daily cruise and fast ferry sailings, this is equivalent to around 50 flights.
Another attraction for Irish fans arises from the fact that Irish Ferries will be charging just €30 each way for additional car passengers so that a typical car and four fare is around €200 each way.
