Power from its four-litre TFSI engine is impressive at 560hp and 700nm of torque, while fuel consumption is relatively low for such a powerful machine at 9.5l/100km.
"The Audi RS 7 confirms the reputation of the RS models as the superior, top athletes of our brand," said Prof Dr Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development of AUDI AG.
"The combination of a powerful four litre V8 engine with cylinder on demand technology, quattro drive and intelligent lightweight design makes the RS 7 an outstanding piece of sports equipment for any fan of dynamic and yet efficient driving."
The Audi RS 7 can be ordered from the third quarter 2014 and will be available for delivery in Ireland for January 2015.
Audi Ireland says the final price and equipment details will be released closer to launch.
