Following the recent launch of the very cheap Logan another cheap Dacia has landed in Ireland, the Sandero Stepway Crossover, with prices starting at €12,290.

Stepway's raised ride height gives the driver a commanding view of the road ahead other SUV styling features include black wheel arch extensions, side sills and front and rear scuff plates. 16” Stepway design wheels, satin chrome roof bars and a choice of four optional metallic colours give the Sandero Stepway a certain presence. There is a choice of two frugal engines. The TCe 90 petrol engine generates 90bhp from its 3-cylinders, and can do 5.4 l/100km. The dCi 90 turbo-diesel engine can achieve 4 l/100km and emits 105g/km of CO2. The 1.5 dCi is used throughout the Renualt/Nissan group.

Torque is well-matched to its power, with 220 Nm on hand at 1,750 rpm. This means the 1.5 dCi responds briskly from very low revs, and minimises the need for repeated gear changes, especially in urban driving conditions. This is achieved with fuel consumption figures among the lowest in its class, and correspondingly low environmental impact emitting just 105 g of CO2 per km.

Available in two versions, Alternative or Signature, the Sandero Stepway Crossover offers cabin space for up to five adults, and a boot capacity of 320 litres but comes at a price tag of a supermini.

“It is all about smart buys nowadays and Dacia is the ideal smart buy for these tough economic times. We are delighted to be able to offer a Dacia range in Ireland from just €99 a month, with our Duster, Sandero, Logan MCV and now the Sandero Stepway Crossover (€129 per month), giving Irish drivers a real affordable choice for family cars. I think it shows the popularity of simple and reliable cars when you see our Sandero Supermini already nominated in the Irish Car of the Year Awards. To win would be good, but we feel Dacia is already winning in the affordability and practicality stakes as Irish customers are really growing to like the brand”,  Lynne Boucher, Marketing Manager, Dacia Ireland.

Like the rest of the Dacia range, the new Sandero Stepway benefits from a 3 year/100,000 km warranty, extendable up to 5 years unlimited mileage for €369.
