This is the first time that there has been a Coupé version of the Leon, which was launched in five-door guise last February.

The Leon range will be rounded-off by an estate model (Sports Tourer) in the autumn.

There is a choice of engines in the Leon SC, ranging from the 1.2 TSI petrol engine with either 86hp or 105bhp, rising up to the 180hp 1.8 TSI petrol engine.

Also in the range are two 1.6-litre diesels with 90hp and 105hp and a 2.0-litre 184hp diesel that puts out an impressive 380Nm of torque.

At €28,295, the 184hp diesel is one of the best value performance diesel cars on the market.

There is a choice of three trim levels: Reference, Style and FR.

Standard specification on all new Leon models includes six airbags (two front, two side and two curtain), air conditioning, a multifunction steering wheel and an onboard computer, the Media System Colour with five-inch colour touch screen (MP3/USB/SD card/Bluetooth (phone and audio streaming)/CD/Aux-in and six speakers).
