The brand achieved a national market share of 5.4% year-to-date, maintaining its position as the number one premium car brand in the country.

Following on from a successful 2012, this result sees the brand increase its sales by 23% compared to the same period last year.

Andrew Doyle, Managing Director at Audi Ireland, said: "Despite a highly competitive trading environment in January, we are delighted with our sales performance.

"The figures for the month are extremely encouraging and with the anticipated arrival of the A3 Sportback this month, we are confident that sales will continue to flourish for the remainder of quarter one and beyond."
