The entry car uses an 86bhp, 121g/CO2, 1.2-litre TSI petrol engine, but for higher mileage users there are two diesels (1.6- and 2.0-litre) making up the range.
The greenest version initially available in Ireland will be the 99g/CO2, 1.6-litre TDI (105bhp) - prices start at €22,195, while 2-litre TDI (150bhp) prices start at €24,095.
A DSG automatic gearbox option is available for a premium.
There will be three trim levels: Active, Ambition (+€2,350) and Elegance (+€1,550 over Ambition).
A comprehensive range of optional extras also feature in the third-generation Octavia.
Škoda also is offering a €239 per month finance deal on the new Octavia that includes a €10.99 service plan instalment.
