Vintage Farm Tractor Calendar released

Vintage Farm Tractor Calendar released

A calendar featuring a special collection of Ireland's best known vintage tractors has been released this week to coincide with the National Ploughing Championships at New Ross, Co Wexford.

The Irish Vintage Farm Tractor Calendar 2013 is the first calendar of its kind to celebrate vintage tractors in Ireland.

The calendar shows photographs of Allis Chalmers, David Brown, Ferguson, Ford, Fordson, Massey Ferguson, and Ursus vintage tractors - the dominant names in the huge vintage movement and weekend vintage rallies which have taken up the social life of thousands of families throughout rural areas.

Peter O’Connell of Peter O’Connell Media, Dublin, who developed the calendar concept in conjunction with Michael Freeman of Three Sisters Press, said: "Hundreds of thousands of farmers and enthusiasts are now obsessed with the rural equivalent of Fifty Shades of Grey, what is dubbed 'tractor porn'.

"They lust after the workings of old wrecks of machines that may be lying derelict in yards, ditches , out on fields or in scrapyards and they rescue them and spend their spare time restoring them to their former beauty."

The Irish Vintage Farm Tractor Calendar 2013 will be sold for €9.99.
