The Design Doctors get inspired by Harlech House, Co. Dublin.
Harlech House is situated down a cul de sac in a quiet suburban housing estate in Co. Dublin.
The house was originally built in 1798 but underwent a huge redesigned in 1993. The redesign was inspired by the history of the house, by nature’s elements and by Christian motifs.
The house contrasts greatly with the surrounding house, and the dramatic dragon gates are an unusual but interesting feature. The detailed design and the wonderful natural light in the house inspired the Design Doctors, and Denise and Catherine hope to bring some of the methods of maximising natural light into the design of Teresa and Michael’s home.
