Why get takeaway again?


  • 2 mugs basmati rice
  • 4 cardamoms
  • 1 tblsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • piece of cinnamon (optional)
  • 4 mugs water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 bayleafs


  • Heat the oil in a large saucepan with the cumin seeds and cardamoms. Add the cloves and salt and stir. And the rice and stir well.
  • Add 4 mugs of water, put on the lid and bring to the boil.
  • Turn the heat down and simmer for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat before the water has disappeared completely and let it stand for about 5 minutes with the lid on.
