Quick Fried Rice

Why get takeaway again?


  • 2 mugs basmati rice
  • 4 cardamoms
  • 1 tblsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • piece of cinnamon (optional)
  • 4 mugs water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 bayleafs


  1. Heat the oil in a large saucepan with the cumin seeds and cardamoms. Add the cloves and salt and stir. And the rice and stir well.
  2. Add 4 mugs of water, put on the lid and bring to the boil.
  3. Turn the heat down and simmer for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat before the water has disappeared completely and let it stand for about 5 minutes with the lid on.
