- 2 large onions (peeled and sliced)
- 0.50 l beef or chicken stock
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 sprig thyme
- 25 g butter
- 1 crushed clove garlic
- Melt the butter in a heavy sauce pot.
- Add onions, garlic and cook slowly for 10/15 minutes until the onions are golden brown.
- Add stock, bay leaf and thyme.
- Season and simmer for 30/40 minutes.
