Short Bread

A lovely snack that can be varied and is perfect for entertaining.


  • 200 g corn flour
  • 400 g flour
  • 400 g butter
  • 200 g caster sugar


  1. Place all ingredients into the mixer and combine.
  2. Roll into tubes and chill.
  3. Slice and bake for 10-15 minutes @ 180°C (350°F/Gas 4).
  4. Sprinkle with caster sugar when removed.
  5. Variations:
  6. Lemon - Add lemon zest and lemon oil to taste.
  7. Orange and Walnut - Add orange oil and chopped walnuts.
  8. Pecan Nut - Add chopped pecan nuts.
  9. Chocolate and Hazelnut - Add chopped hazelnuts and replace the corn flour with cocoa powder.
