- 75 g soft brown sugar
- 275 ml water
- 75 g butter
- 4 dsp dark rum
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 25 g cornflour (mixed to a paste with a little cold water)
- 75 g pecan nuts (roughly chopped)
- Place all the ingredients except the pecan nuts in a saucepan and bring to the boil, stirring.
- Reduce the heat, add the pecan nuts and simmer for 1 minute.
- Serve with pumpkin pie.
