In last night’s episode six amateur chefs - Charlie Day, Niamh Mannion, Claudio Moscati, Gary Keegan, Emma Clarke and Rich Dales, were welcomed by Nick and Dylan into the MasterChef kitchen, for the first of four weeks of heats.
All six had just one hour to impress Nick and Dylan with their signature dish and earn their place in the next stage of the competition. With only four places for Wednesday night’s show it was the end of the line for Claudio and Emma.
For the four remaining contestants they will have to step it up a level, working the busy lunch service in two of Dublin’s finest hotels. Having impressed Nick and Dylan on day one of their heat Charlie, Niamh, Rich and Gary make their way to the first ever professional kitchen lunch service.
Gary and Charlie will work at the Dylan, a five star boutique hotel. And for Niamh and Rich – their kitchen is the world renowned Shelbourne Hotel. Their task will be to produce a main course to the same exacting standards as a top-level chef. Precision is key for all of tonight’s amateur cooks.
