The Great Christmas Giveaway!
Day 12: It's the final day and we have a superb prize up for grabs - dinner for two at Rock Lobster!
Rock Lobster has recently opened above Kielys pub in Donnybrook. The style is relaxed, the prices are keen and the menu is mouth-watering, where lobster and beef share star billing.
Lobster, both Canadian and Irish on offer, is served with fries and salad, either whole, simply grilled and split, or as a Lobster Roll. The in-house aged Beef selection is showcased by a 36oz 55 day Porterhouse to be shared (if you must) or a choice of 16oz Cote de boeuf, 10oz Sirloin, off the bone, or 8oz Fillet.
Created by Niall Sabongi, most recently of Ivans of Howth, and Patrick Kiely of O’Connor’s Seafood in Bantry, recently added to the Michelin Guide, each brings their own expertise to Rock Lobster.
Niall grew up in Dublin’s restaurant business, and like his father George, renowned for George’s Bistro, aims to create a relaxed and welcoming bar/restaurant, with cocktails and live music setting the stage for great food, until late.
Patrick, as Head Chef of O’Connor’s in Bantry brought a passion for the best and freshest shellfish and Irish produce. Head Chef Robert Sabongi, Niall’s brother and formerly of The Library at Dandelion and Bridge Bar & Bistro has just joined the team, bringing an enviable reputation for exceptional cooking.
Rock Lobster’s Beef is supplied by Michael Birmingham of M&K Meats, and is further dry and wet aged in-house. The Canadian Lobster, currently sourced from the Bay of Fundy, is brought in via Maine and will be supplemented with Irish lobster as available.
Rock Lobster is open seven days a week, for lunch and dinner, with brunch served on Saturday and Sunday. Bookings: Eat@RockLobster.ie or call 01 2028585
