MasterChef Ireland returns for a second exciting series on Thursday nights at 9.30pm. The 12 week run gets underway on 4th October and will see 16 contestants battling it out to win the coveted title of MasterChef Ireland 2012 and a prize of €25,000.
Judges Dylan McGrath and Nick Munier returns to put the contestants through their paces with a series of challenges throughout the series.

Edward Hayden is best known for his popular cookery slots on TV3's Ireland AM. Hayden is a regular cookery columnist in Woman's Way and his recipes and cookery features have appeared in numerous national publiciations, including the Irish Independent, The Irish Times, the Sunday World and Food & Wine Magazine. He self-published his first cookbook, Edward Entertains, in 2008, followed by his second book, Food To Love, published by The O'Brien Press in 2011. He released his third cookery book, Food for Friends, in 2013.
Justin O’Connor is originally from the north county Dublin. He trained at the Dublin College of Catering in the capital, taking a degree in Culinary Management and graduated in 1991.
From the moment of his graduation, “Joc,” as everyone calls him, gained experience in a number of five star hotels such as the Shelbourne hotel in Dublin and top end restaurants like La Stampa, before specialising in corporate and event catering. Joc also traveled to Canada and worked in the renowned King Edward Hotel in Toronto.
On his return to his native Dublin, Joc started working in the most visited international attraction in Ireland, Guinness Storehouse in 2004, and currently his team caters for about 200,000 guests a year. Joc works closely with the Guinness Storehouse leadership team in the design of new and exciting offers using Guinness as a primary ingredient in a range of signature dishes.
