The second coming of London Collections: Men

London Collections: Men kicks off today for the second standalone presentation of menswear in the English capital.

Spread over three days, the showcase will see menswear designers present their Autumn/Winter 2013 collections. The dedicated menswear fashion event begun just over six months ago, with a successful first foray in May 2012.

Emphasising the commercial importance of British brands, the schedule of events features some of the world’s most exciting, emerging talents alongside established heritage labels, respected Savile Row Tailors, and luxury international designers.

A key show that not only Irish fashion fans but the fashion world as a whole are waiting to see, JW Anderson has secured the coveted slot of 10am on the final morning. Derry-born Anderson will show his latest menswear designs nestled around the cream of the contemporary fashion crop in London – Matthew Miller, Katie Eary, Hardy Amies, E.Tautz and Christopher Raeburn.

Kicking off the first day of shows is a unique mix of contemporary and luxe, featuring Orlebar Brown, Lou Dalton, Alfred Dunhill, John Smedley and Mr Start. Both Topman and Hackett will live-stream their shows today on the official LCM website, as well as their own sites, at midday and 6:30pm respectively.

Looking towards Tuesday, Burberry kicks off a day of fashion highlights which include collections by London’s finest – James Long, Oliver Spencer, Martine Rose, YMC, and Jonathan Saunders. Seasoned professionals Vivienne Westwood, Nicole Fahri and Margaret Howell will also offer up their latest designs for the fashion hungry.

For the final day, both Tom Ford and Christopher Kane will host presentations, while Sir Paul Smith, Tinie Tempah, and GQ editor Dylan Jones host a closing private dinner to celebrate the curtain call on another exciting showcase of arguably the world’s best menswear design of the moment.
