Erin O'Connor gives her Ladies Day top tips

Supermodel Erin O'Connor, who is due to judge the Hennessy Gold Cup Best Dressed Lady next month, gives her top races fashion tips.

The British supermodel, 34, is due to arrive in Leopardstown Racecourse on Saturday February 9th (her birthday!) to judge the style and award the Best Dressed Lady.

As always the fashion stakes will be high for the 2013 Hennessy Gold Cup Best Dressed Lady. Held in association with Design Centre, hundreds of Ireland’s most fashionable ladies will hope to make an impact on this year’s judges. Judging alongside O'Connor will be Ashling Kilduff, owner of Design Centre, and Caroline Sleiman from Moët Hennessy.

Having such a wealth of experience, Erin shares some top tips on what she will be looking for on the day and, how ladies hoping to walk away with the coveted title, can dress to impress.

1. Hat Fascination
A hat or headpiece is a must for winter racing and can really make or break an outfit. The great thing about a head piece is that ladies can personalise it and make it as individual and bespoke as the outfit allows.

2. A Timeless Approach
While originality in fashion is to be applauded, a timeless approach to style and understated glamour cannot be underestimated.

3. Less is More!
Although accessories can make an outfit, it is always important not to over accessorise. Ladies at the Hennessy Gold Cup should dress for the weather and judges will look for appropriate accessories such as gloves or a stole.

4. Be a Natural Beauty
Always remember to let your natural beauty shine through. It is important to keep in mind that make up is an accessory too.

5. Dress to Impress
When choosing the perfect outfit, it is important to keep racing etiquette in mind, so save shorter dresses and minis for other summer occasions and keep hem lines at knee length or below.

Contestants are encouraged to enter the competition by pre-registering on Facebook or by presenting themselves at the registration desk in the Hennessy Best Dressed Lady marquee on race day.

On arrival at the Hennessy Best Dressed Lady marquee, hair and make-up experts from Dylan Bradshaw will offer ladies a chance to try out some glamorous new looks for winter racing. The winner will be presented with a €7,000 Design Centre voucher to spend on a fabulous selection of designer clothes, as well as a bottle of Hennessy X.O. Magnificence.
