Delevingne turns designer for DKNY

Cara Delevingne is making her design debut with a capsule collection for DKNY.

The Brit model confirmed the news on her Instagram page last night (June 9), saying: "Get Ready!!! It's Coming... #Cara4DKNY", alongside a pic of her holding what appears to be the official logo for the range.

The model-of-the-minute commented: “I can’t believe that some random, rough ideas have finally turned into my own collection…designs with my own name on them and in collaboration with the iconic DKNY brand.

“It is so wild to realize that it has been an entire year since we began planning this project together…goes to show that time does fly when you’re having fun.”Delevingne, who started working with the brand two years ago, has created at 15-piece collection that is "mostly unisex" and will feature her signature beanies, T-shirts and a leather motorcycle jacket with removable sleeves.

All pieces feature details with a "special meaning to Cara" and will be available in stores and online at the end of October, with prices starting at $70 for accessories, to $150 for T-Shirts, to $735 for the leather jacket.

Budding models can also be in with a chance of getting involved, as Delevingne has also launched an online campaign to cast two or three fans to join her in the shoot for the collection.

She called on her Instagram followers to "post a pic of yourself looking fresh to your Instagram and tag #CaraD4DKNY and #CaraWantsYou between now and 16 June" for the opportunity to join her in New York for the shoot.
