Victoria's Secret castings are "terrifying" according to the brands creative director, Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou.
Speaking to Vogue UK about the casting experience for potential Victoria's Secret Angels she said: " It can be quite terrifying for them. They are provisionally cast by John Pfeiffer [Casting Director] but the final decision is made by the whole team, sitting at this long table in a room with really harsh lighting and they have to walk towards us and away from us."
It is hard to imagine that long time members of the Victoria's Secret family like Doutzen Kroes and Alessandra Ambrosio need to be put under the spotlight but according to Neophitiou, not even the long standing Angels get an exemption.
She said: "They all have to do it - even the contracted girls - and it's incredibly nerve-wracking for them."
So how does a girl ensure that she's good enough? Apostolou explains that it's about being in the best possible physical condition.
"It's about being show-ready," she said. "It's really like being an Olympian - they have to be in peak condition. It's not about being thin or anything like that - it's about being ready to perform and be the best you can be in that moment."
