Alexander McQueen is set to join forces with artist Damien Hirst to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the designer's iconic skull scarf.
Hirst will create 30 limited editions designs that will be inspired by the artist’s “Entomology “series of paintings which feature butterflies, spiders and other insects arranged to create a kaleidoscope effect.
The scarves will be available in twill, cashmere, chiffon and pongé fabrics and prices will start from £315.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, the brand said that Hirst was selected for the collaboration because his “interest in design is combined with strong references to the natural world.”
This will not be the first time Hirst has ventured into the fashion world having designed a selection of 12 backpacks for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s fashion line, The Row.
McQueen and Hirst’s scarves will be available from mid-November from Alexander McQueen stores and online at alexandermcqueen.com
