Galliano in talks to design costumes for Fry
John Galliano is in talks with Stephen Fry to design the costumes for his theatre production of The Importance of Being Earnest according to the Daily Mail.
Stephen Fry is to direct the stage version of the Oscar Wild classic which is set to open in London next year. Fry will also play the role of Lady Bracknell.
Set in the Victorian era, there is no doubt that Galliano’s dramatic style would suit the production perfectly however, Fry is also speaking to other designers including creative director of Alexandar McQueen, Sarah Burton.
If Galliano were to land the job, it would mark another positive step in his quest to rebuild his career after he was fired from Dior in 2011 for making anti-Semetic comments.
Galliano is no stranger to designing stage costumes having created outfits for Kylie Minogue’s tours in 1991 and 2006.
