Late last year it was confirmed Tom Ford was due to stage his first womenswear show at London Fashion Week, and details are beginning to emerge about the show.
Ford has become synonymous with keeping his collection reveals secret and avoiding the catwalk show format, instead being famed for choosing a top-secret, intimate presentation style - where photography is banned.
However, for the upcoming London Fashion Week in February, Ford is planning a large-scale event. The reason behind it? "The company has jumped and I can no longer service the stores by not showing. So I have to love it and embrace it", he explains to Times Magazine.
"It's going to be for 500 to 1,000 people. Photographers, bloggers - a regular, real show" the 52 year-old Texas-born designer proclaims. The location is still under wraps but the British Fashion Council has confirmed that Ford will show on February 18th.
Speaking about his move to London and entrance into the UK fashion scene, Ford says "I hope it works here [in London], because my dream goal is to raise my children here". Ford recently welcomed his first child with long-time partner Richard Buckley, a son named Alexander John.
Though he only spends half the year in the UK, he gushes to the magazine about the country - the "humour, the formality, the manners" and "the irreverence in England".
Another design set to show in London for the first time will be L'Wren Scott who defects from the Paris shows, and from New York before that.
