Irish designer Jonathan Anderson is set to design for Italian label Versus, sister label of Versace.
Magherafelt-born Anderson, the designer behind brand JW Anderson, will replace Christopher Kane after it was announced last week that the designer would not return to design for the Italian label.
“I keep a close eye on young talent, and have been impressed by Jonathan’s work over the last couple of years” Donatella Versace said. “Versus is all about fun, change, and digital” she added.
Anderson’s Versus designs will be first seen in New York, during a presentation scheduled for Easter time 2013, and will include menswear and women’s ready-to-wear, alongside select accessories. The collections will be available through international department stores and online.
JW Anderson menswear line
JW Anderson was born in 2008 when Jonathan began a solely menswear fashion brand. By 2011 he had begun designing womenswear, which quickly led to his capsule collection for Topshop earlier this year, alongside a further Topshop collection planned for 2013.

Anderson, who is based in London, recently won the emerging talent award for his women’s ready-to-wear designs at the British Fashion Awards this week.
