The winner of The Peroni Moda Awards in Ireland has been announced.
Designer Mary Callan has been chosen as the winner of the awards, which were held last night in The Powerscourt Townhouse in Dublin.
Mary Callan's design is a translation of Peroni's Blue Ribbon into bold knitwear, with further reference to the ribbon in the collar detail, which consists of two strips of knitted braid. The design is made from merino wool and is entirely hand loomed.
The Peroni Moda Awards is a competition to discover talented and aspiring designers in Ireland, and one of the judges is Italian designer Marco de Vincenzo.
Winner, Mary Callan will enjoy the opportunity of a lifetime to work directly with Marco De Vincenzo in Milan as he prepares his Autumn/Winter 2013 collection for his show in Milan Fashion Week.

Commenting on the awards, Marco De Vincenzo said: "I am glad to collaborate with Peroni Nastro Azzurro on The Peroni Moda Awards, as fashion is such an important part of Italian culture. The finalist designs have really captured the essence of Peroni’s iconic blue ribbon and embraced the Italian values of craftsmanship and attention to detail – to see the designs brought to life was magnificent and I am looking forward to working with Mary Callan next year when preparing for my A/W 2013 Milan show.”
