And if the spring/summer catwalks are anything to go by, this will be a year of extremes when it comes to fashion-forward hair.

Summer 2013 trends include braids, fringes, bob haircuts, ombre hair colours and much more.

Ombre Hair:
Two tone hair is a go to trend for 2013 and celebs like Jessica Alba, Olivia Wilde, Isabeli Fontana and Selena Gomez are loving this look. Ombre is a colouring technique that looks like you bleached your dark hair blonde, then let the roots grow out several inches, resulting in several inches of dark hair that transitions into light ends. Think Drew Barrymore's black roots fadeing into blond tips or Rihanna's auburn locks tipped with fiery, lavalike ends. This isn’t just for long, straight styles. Shoulder-length hairstyles can also highlighted with high-drama style keeping deep dark root base with lighter lengths.

Faux Bob Hairstyle:
This long hair looking short style has been sported by many a celebrity; curly like Amanda Holden, Holly Willoughby, Taylor Swift and hot new talent Elizabeth Olsen, or straight like Gwyneth Paltrow . If you’re not brave enough to chop those locks, opt for a faux bob. Just pin the under layer of your hair and wear either straight or curly. Don’t forget to add some waves and lots of volume to keep all eyes on you hairdo. Go for vintage, romantic, flapper, retro or boho look for achieving flawless faux bob style.

Braids:
Seldom does the summer season pass without a plait being featured on the catwalk. And the sculpted fishtail plait is a huge feature for this spring/summer. Braids are a fab way to jazz up a look and add little fun to simple hairstyle. Whether wrapped around the head or an updo or simply added to loose locks, braids always make hair look youthful, lively and flirty. There are endless ways you can incorporate braids to make a look more fun and interesting.

Fringes:
Blunt fringes were all the rage in 2012 and the strong fringe will remain remain a favourite...popular throughout all of 2013.From side-swept fringes to front, blunt fringes to peek a-boo or messy, fringe styles can enhance any face shape for an instant WOW factor.

Asymmetrical Bob
Did the beauty from Barbados rock the asymmetrical bob first, or was it Victoria Beckham? Either way, Rihanna wore it well. Short, shiny, and sleek with a dramatic edge. Now they are being championed by the likes of Marion Cotillard, Karlie Kloss and Brittany Snow. Combining sex appeal and edginess, asymmetrical bobs feature different lengths of hair at two sides of head. Add highlights, bangs or volume to adopt a more modern look.

Hair Accessory:
From Milan to New York, models wore hair accessories to add a touch of drama to their look. Add some bling to hairstyle with one of Spring/Summer’s top trends – hair embellishments. Exquisite sparkling hair accessories offer dramatic flair to hairstyle with a touch of glam and hint of mystery. Different hairstyles like updos, ponytails, braids, bobs or long loose hairstyles can easily be amped up using floral garlands or doughnuts to add volume to a messy bun.You can use feathers, bows and many more fun accessories.
