My Fashion Life: Irish model Teodora Sutra

Top Irish model Teodora Sutra gives us the lowdown on her fashionable life.

My very fist fashion memory...
My mum used to always have Vogue lying around the house when I was just a little girl. I first started reading it when I was eight years old and was mesmerized by the beautiful photographs inside. I’d look at the pictures and make my Barbie doll clothes inspired by what I seen. Unfortunately my Barbie’s never looked as good as the Versace models but I did try!

I started to establish my style identity when...
I started modelling. Being around Ireland’s biggest models, most fabulous stylists and everybody in the industry was amazing; they all dress so well! I started modelling at quite a young age and was completely clueless about fashion. Doing my job, you get to wear the most amazing clothes every day, so slowly, I started to realise what looks good on me and what doesn't.

The day that changed my life...
It was an ordinary Saturday; my mum was taking me shopping to Kilkenny. Listening to the radio in the car we heard 1st Option’s Trish and Jules Fallon asking girls from Kilkenny to come audition for the Ford Supermodel Competition. In my jeans and runners I went along to the audition and, two weeks later, I won. It changed my life completely!

The thing that I like most about my appearance...
My bandy legs and big smile!

I look my best...
When I'm in love or just happy. I find that's it's not an outfit that makes a person look good it's that glow about them when they're happy inside, it shows on the outside!

My closet...
Is a big fat mess! It is full of stuff that I love, from my ‘oh so cute’ Penneys handbag that I refuse to throw out after 3 years of continuous wear, to my D&G LBD! I don’t have a favourite store where I buy everything; I have little bits and bobs from all stores. I get attached to things easily so I find it hard to throw clothes away. My closet needs a clear out.

I own so many...
Shoes! On some modeling jobs you are asked to bring a selection of your own shoes so over the years I’ve bought shoes in every colour there is. I have far too many shoes. But realistically I only wear 5 pairs of the 60!

Something you don't know about me...
I'm addicted to chocolate! That's it my secret is out there! They have alcohol free beer, nicotine free cigarettes surely they should have chocolate free chocolate! All the taste of chocolate without the calories.

My favorite place in the world...
My grandparents place in the countryside in Latvia. It's around 90 hectares of land, fields and forests with a lake, sauna house, the most amazing place to relax. I call it my paradise. I used to go there every weekend as a child but now I only get to go once a year to visit when I'm back in Latvia; it's truly magical.

The person that changed me...
My mother. I know that sounds like a typical answer but my mother is the one person on this planet that I respect like nobody else. As a child, I saw my mother only as an annoying parent who wouldn't let me stay out later then 11pm and made me eat all my vegetables, which as a child seemed like such a cruel thing to do! But as an adult I see how by doing everything she's done in life has made me into the person that I am today.

How did I ever live without...
2 things - Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour cream and my amazing boyfriend James!
