Sales & Services for Use in Public Exhibitions- Charges
Research, Viewing & Transfer Costs
Charges will apply for all technical costs of access, including research and viewing time, copying and transfers of material. A minimum advance charge must be paid for in full as per RTÉ Libraries and Archives rates applying at the time of access.
In the case of large-scale projects, clients requesting material may be advised to hire professional researchers at the client's own expense.

Royalties for Non-Commercial Use of Archive Material in Public Exhibitions
Royalty fees may not be charged for the use of RTÉ archive material in museum and heritage exhibitions under a Public Exhibition Licensing Agreement .
Waiving of royalty charges will be subject to
- considerations of the funding invested in, and revenue generated from, the public exhibition
- terms and conditions of the Public Exhibition Licensing Agreement
- copyright law.
Commercial Exploitation
Commercial exploitation of the materials will require an additional licence and RTÉ Libraries and Archives reserves the right to charge royalties for any such use. Additionally RTÉ Libraries and Archives reserves the right to refuse or restrict such commercial exploitation.
Terms and Conditions of Charges
- Charges are reviewed annually and may be changed at the discretion of the RTÉ Libraries and Archives.
- Charges do not cover all eventualities.
- Material is provided on a strictly non-exclusive basis for use in exhibition specified in licence agreement.
- Material must not be used in a manner that is detrimental to any person or body.
- The user is responsible for clearing all music, appearance and performing rights and will indemnify RTÉ against any claims resulting from a failure to clear such rights.
- All library fees, duplicating costs, shipping costs and minimum royalty fees are payable on supply of any copies.
- Where royalty fees apply, a minimum non-refundable royalty fees paid will be deducted from the final fee payable if that should be greater.
- Royalty fees for usage of material are charged according to length used on receipt of a usage declaration. If no usage declaration is received within 30 days from date of supply, royalty fees are payable on total length supplied.
