A Rainbow Budget
The rainbow coalition government budget was delivered by Ruairí Quinn. There were significant concessions for the lower paid in PRSI and income tax. The standard 27% tax rate band was increased for single and married people. Tax relief for all tenants in private rented accommodation was introduced. Information leaks prior to the Minister's speech resulted in the resignation of Junior Minister for Finance Phil Hogan. |
