We know about some of the bigger events taking place -- the Bloom festival in Dublin, and the Cats Laugh comedy festival in Kilkenny, but there's an abundance of festivals and events happening all around the country.
Here's a flavour of some of them; we'll start with the Doonbeg International Jazz festival in County Clare.
Doonbeg might normally be regarded as a hotbed of Irish traditional music, but this festival has been going for some time now.
It'll feature acts around the town over the weekend -- we're told that it's going to be accessible stuff, not just for jazz wonks -- and it will be free-in to see all of the acts, no cover charge.
You might think locals would run for cover at the thought of 7,000 motorbikes descending on their town -- but not in Killarney. They're expecting over 30,000 people to attend the Ireland Bike Fest.
They'll be putting on guided tours -- so bikers can tour things like the Ring of Kerry and Dingle peninsula.
Organisers say there'll be plenty to keep all ages happy, billing it as family-friendly.
So, in addition to the bikes -- which gather at the bike village near the Gleneagle Hotel -- there will be outdoor music which is free and a series of indoor performances as well.
If you're not keen on exhaust fumes and are looking for clean air and a bit of exercise, you can head to the Glen of Aherlow walking festival in Tipperary.
It's into it's 15th year and involves a series of guided walks throughout the weekend. You don't need necessarily be super-fit to take part and they've graded the walks into A, B and C treks.
Type A walks will see you taking in the high Galtees, the B-walks are intermediate and the C-walks are more sedate, along forest tracks.
And as far as a I know, you can register to take part in the various walks up to 15 minutes before they depart -- and you can get those departure points on the website.
