Style Trial: Sienna Miller
It’s rare you see a celeb get an outfit as wrong as Sienna Miller did for the premiere of her new film ‘G.I. Joe’ in Japan.
Her sparkly choice beggars belief! Sequins are back in a big way this autumn/winter (aren’t they always?) and here is a case study in how not to do it. S
he often goes for choices that could be deemed ‘fashion forward’ and maybe not to everyone’s taste – but here her quest for the next-hot-thing has let her down. I just can’t pick one thing I like about this ensemble.
The shiny royal blue vest looks like something straight out of John Travolta’s ‘Saturday Night Fever’ and those shoes have a smack of Julia Roberts in ‘Pretty Woman’ off them. The suit itself is a terrible idea – you don’t want to go for the sparkly look all over no matter what your figure is like. The pattern and colour of the sequins give it even more of a tacky edge.
On another note – you can pick up a lookalike-jacket in Penneys at the moment for €21. Probably decidedly less than Sienna shelled out for this Gucci version. Pair it with skinny jeans, a baggy t-shirt and heels for a look that doesn’t scream ‘try-hard’!
