X Factor - Sixth Live Show

Jamie Afro is out of luck! So, another one bites the dust… And this time it's Jamie who is waving goodbye. Was it a shocking result? Hardly. After last week's backlash against Simon, there had to be at least one of his acts in the bottom two. People react. That's just the way the vote goes.

Lloyd and Jamie in the bottom two.I wasn't shocked to see either Lloyd or Jamie in the bottom two. Like I said, people probably wanted to punish Simon for going back on his word last week (I don't think it was the fact that he sent the vote to deadlock that angered people, it was more the fact that he made that long-winded speech beforehand and then completely went back on his word). It was unfortunate for Jamie that he seemed to suffer the consequences (or maybe the voting public could just have been sick of him!). As for Lloyd, well I think he was lucky to survive another week. There was a definite improvement in his performance this week but it's still not brilliant and it always looks like he's struggling a bit with the choreography. He's sweet and very charming but maybe, as Louis likes to say so often, he's a little out of his depth now.

The controversial deadlock!
Dannii forced the vote to deadlock again!For yet another week the vote has gone to deadlock. What do we think of this? Is it the fairest way to decide who get eliminated? After all the person who has genuinely polled the lowest votes will be sent home under that system, whereas when the judges vote we never know who was least popular with the public? But then, if deadlock is going to be used every single week, do we really need to go through the step of hearing the judges vote, back-track (tut tut Louis!) and make excuses?

Is a winner emerging?
At this stage of the competition it's still tough to predict who will be in the final. If I was a betting person (and everyone knows I am) I'd say that Olly, Joe and Stacey/Jedward will make the final. I'm torn between Stacey and the twins as my final selection. If Jedmania continues then I think that John and Edward could very well be in the final (and good luck to them) but Stacey is consistently good and is the only female left standing. But for me, there can only be one winner at this stage and that's Olly Murs. I think he gets better and better every week. He's a natural mover on stage, always delivers great vocals despite the high-energy nature of his stage performance and seems like a genuinely nice guy.

Queen Week
Calvin Harris storming the stage!I have to say, I thought that Queen week was a huge success. I was a bit dubious about some of the acts managing to pull Queen songs off but I think that almost everyone upped their game this week. It was probably John and Edward's best performance to date (They really had fun with the song and even kept their cool when Calvin Harris stormed the stage. Now I'm a huge Calvin Harris fan but I have to ask - Why would you do something like that?!). Lloyd, while not brilliant, was also much better than in previous weeks. And of course, Stacey, like Simon said, turned in one of the performances of the night. Danyl was also good, although I'm still not ready to join the fan club. And outstanding performances, as always, from Olly and Joe. I did actually think that Jamie struggled a bit in terms of his performance on Saturday night. He seemed to spend most of his time stuck to the same spot and it just didn't really seem to fit with the song. Sticking with the week's theme, how great were the Queen lads with the contestants? They really seemed to enjoy listening to their renditions of their songs and were very encouraging to them.

Louis' rulebook!
Louis needs to ditch the rulebook!Is anyone else getting a little bit sick of Louis' rulebook? I thought it was quite funny for the first few weeks, when it was mostly aimed at the other judges, but now it's getting a bit mean? What does poor Joe have to do to impress him? Last week he was too ‘musical theatre' and this week he was accused of using a choir to help him. If he needed their help that might be OK to say Louis but clearly Joe can impress on his own, without any gimmicks - so maybe give the rulebook a rest for a week or two!

Not surprised to see Jamie leave, but Simon should have listened to his own criticism of the other judge's song choices for their acts. He never got the best out of Jamie. Jamie is a performer with huge potential and I don't think he ever had the chance to shine. Rock week for example should have been Jamie's week. All of the huge Rock songs he could have sang and he sings...."Get Your Rocks Off"!!! Simon doesn't know how to manage a Rock performer and that's why Jamie is gone now. The X Factor is for pop artists who can be moulded into a specific type of singer. I hope Jamie does go on to better things though because he deserves it.

Linda and the gang - Loving the X-Factor and Strictly blogs. Keep up the good work. I wasn't surprised that Jamie and Lloyd were in the bottom two either. The face on Simons face when Jamie was sent packing was classic. I'm sure he will do well in anyway, as will all 12 acts. Agree with you that Olly, Joe and Stacey will be in the final. Can't take to Danyl even though he is a good singer. Don't know what it is about him cause I thought he was great at his audition. BTW, was in trabolgan in Cork last weekend and saw Ruth Lorenzo - she was brilliant. What a voice. Laura White sang down there during the summer and by all accounts, she was much better.

Really am finding it harder and harder to care about this show. I predicted Jamie's elimination after a rather cringy crying session on xtrafactor last week. Was he the worst act? Of course not, even excluding the Irish brothers he was not the worst. Lloyd should have gone, but there's a big problem here when you think about it; Does anyone who would actually buy an album made by Jamie watch the xfactor? For the most part the answer is negative and I think he did very well in the circumstances. I predict an album deal for Jamie that will result in an average rock album without a follow up. But when you think about it, for musician in the same position as Jamie in life, could you really ask for more?

I said this last week about Louis's rulebook, its soooooooooo annoying, but he has to have something to moan about. Olly, Joe and Stacey were brilliant on Saturday night. I agree with what louis said that Queen week really exposed Jamie's weakness. Danyl still can't stand him so I won't be joining that club. I have been saying Joe or Olly to win but I think I am firmly in the Olly Club

I have to disagree with Linda for two things mentioned.First of all how you think the final 3 will NOT have Danyl(easily the best singer in the competition)there.Joe has a good voice but he plays everything very safe,actually I think he is quite overated.Secondly the comments regarding Olly getting better every week...I mean was it just me who thought he was rubbish on Saturday with that embarrasing body-popping and half-decent vovals. I am an Olly fan myself but I think he will do better next week rather than Queen week. Anyway I think Danyl will win,Stacey second and Olly third.

Kind of happy Jamie went!! And what is the big obsession with Danyl?? he sings through his nose?? why does no-one else see this? he reminds me of Ronan Keating in the early days!! He just isint that good!! I am a Llyod fan and im glad to see he upped his game this week, but i think he'll struggle and be in the bottom 2 until he gets knocked out. I LOVED Stacey's dress!! if ye can get a picture of it, i would be much obliged *wedding dress design!!* So good to not hear boos for Jedward!! and Joe i think is just amazing...!! I think it will be Olly, Joe and Jedward in the final!! Altho i hope Stacey gets a place!! P.S. Linda...the blogs are brilliant!! :)

I like Jamie, I definitely thought he deserved a place more than Lloyd or Jedward, it's turning too 'cutesy' and into a kiddies entertainment show, it's supposed to be about vocal talent, thought Calvin was hilarious, but he's just helping those twats get more publicity! Louis and his rule book are pathetic, anyone notice he doesn't use it against Jedward, but criticises Joe for having a choir? Eh pot, kettle, black Louis. He's only doing it to try an eliminate his competition - people with actual talent. Olly to win!

Jedward are just incredible. What a naff show it would be without them. I think they are the most interesting and exciting x-factor contestants ever. Agree totally with Enna, danyl sings through his nose and is extremely unlikeable. His smile particularly annoys me. Joe is far too safe and I can't connect with him. Olly is great though had a poor week this week. Stacey is an awesome singer and is very likeable. Lloyd...pfff. Does anyone else here plan their saturday/sunday around x-factor? It's taking over my life... :o)

Joe or Stacey to win! Glad Jamie went, he was very smug. Is nobody else getting really annoyed with Ollie? One trick pony and cant stand his reaction when he gets through each week, very ungracious! Danyl or Jedward to go next!

Correct decision this week, Lloyd improved upon last week where as Jamie was poor this week. I thought Jedward were brilliant as well and deserved their place, yet again proving how poor off the show would be without them.Two things annoyed me though, one is Danni's chip on her shoulder. How many times have we to hear her moan about "best singers" and "singing competiton"? She put Jedward through twice so she being a hypocrite. Second is Louis, he is extremely irritating and annoying down to the point where i switch off when he talks..cop on Louis!

Got to be Joe (7/2 with Paddy Power folks). Olly is definitely kind of annoying and not THAT good at singing, Danyl is incredibly vain and Stacey is a little bit average....only thing that can stop Joe is/are Jedward (8/1)!?

Why was Dannii wearing her dressing-gown on Sunday's show? She looked a bit cheap, I thought. I was pleased with the result - and very glad that we'll get to see Jedward for at least another week. My Joe continues to do well, but it seems that Olly has the best chance of winning. Calvin Harris should know better!

The XFactor what a show. Delighted Jamie is gone never really rated him much anyways and Jedward put in one of there best performaces ever on Saturday night. Loving the XFActor but as everyone was saying sack the stylist the week Cheryl wore the disc dress but what about Danni on Sunday night she looked so cheap and tacky. Defintely sack the stylist there. Also did she awful miming that was done on both performaces of the contestants singing last night. Was dreadful and the white outfits especialy on poor Miss Frank (dreadful). Love the XFactor roll on next Saturday/Sunday nights

So glad Jamie is gone, I knew he would be before the results came out. I love Olly but he was poor on Saturday I think. Danni is the only one that picked up on his bad vocals. Joe is an amazing singer but there is nothing else to him so I think if he won it would be a waste. He'd never make it. Stacey, Jedward and Olly in the final. Stacey to win. When she sang on Saturday it was the first performance this year to give me goosebumps and brought a tear to my eye. Amazing.

I was hoping no one but my wife watches this trash TV. I cant abide it, in saying that I want the "Jedward" to win as they are there simply to get to tune in , I gotta tell you I hope they win because it completly takes the mick out of all that show claims to stand for. Brian Cowell left them in last week even though he claimed to hate them!!! what pretence. RTÉ get a contract ready you have two perfect childrens entertainers on your door step, dont pull a Fr Ted and hand them to the UK.

how can people say olly is a one trick pony when every week you have stacy, danyl and joe going on stage and barely moving.... they do the same thing every week!! You need to sing, dance and be an entertainer and Olly is that.. P.S I notice the people who are sick of him is men.. maybe bit of jealousy as all the women love him!!!!

The viewers finally got it right by voting Jamie off. He was getting far too big for his boots, IMO. I would definitely like to see Lloyd go next as he has been awful every single week. He's only being kept in for his looks. I can't really see what's so great about Danyl. He's nothing really special and he over-performs every week. I hope he goes after Lloyd. I've actually grown tired of Stacey. She has a very good voice but the biggest problem I have with her is that she is sooooooooooo irritating when she starts talking. It was funny at first but I'm fed up of it now. Jedward are still the only act I look forward to every week because unlike everyone else their performances are highly entertaining and I would LOVE to see them win the show. :-)

wouldn't be a whole lot easier for Simon and Louis to give the twins a million quid (thats lets face it, neither of the judges would miss) to leave the competion and put them on kids TV which is where they are destined for anyaways, and get the show back on track. Its turning into the Peter Kay parody at this stage with the two lads. However I will say this, they are very dignified, and everyone of the contestants gives them credit. I dont know how many people could stand going out getting booed every week... .... Or they could create a new TV show "when the Breffmeister met Jedward"..... now THAT would be TV

Agree with Michelle and Glenn. It wasn't Olly's best performance this week and Dannii did pick up on it. Everyone has an off week at some point. Stacey, what a performance. Joe, Olly and Stacey for the final.

Danyl easily the best on the night. Disappointed with Olly. Lloyd should have gone, though not sorry Jamie went (he's a good performer, but I never thought he was versatile- Simon's fault?) I also would love to have got the shears to his hair! :) Calvin Harris just ended up making Jedward look better!

Queen night best of the Xfactor shows so far. Agree with Simon LIoyd out of his depth should be gone.Louis should come down from the clouds and do what he is paid for. Simon is spot on great judge,Cheryl should up it a little. Love the show. Ollie to win,but enjoy jedward.

Ok, well i keep hearing that this was "Jedwards" best performance to date and I feel the need to clarify. When something is terrible and it gets a little better then how is it good? The boys were dreadful every week so far, their Ghostbusters performance was acceptable purely because it was like going to see a pantomime and that’s what xfactor has turned into at this stage, a pantomime. So Danyl is the villain because he has self belief, Stacy is the damsel in distress, Olly the hero who saves the girl in the end (he’s going to win and steal all the girls hearts), Llyod the sidekick etc. And Jedward are like the jesters or the annoying clowns at a circus. Alright I may be guilty of a little ranting, but it’s all true, right?

I'm so sad jamie is gone :-( i love his voice. i though he was going to win it but now with jamie gone i think olly is going to win by a mile. Jamie is gone because simon didnt choose the right songs for him, he should ave choosen his own songs.

Jamie was great in auditions, then a let down in the show and i think that was simons fault, he didnt let him shine at all, he was given crap songs every week but think jamie tried to make the most of it.. Not liking Olly at all, think he annoying,his moves are cringey to look at, and he so cocky that danyl looks nice and sweet when next to him..

I think it's a great shame Jamie Archer lost this week. I've voted for him every week. He brings the stage alive and has given us back an era thats sadly missed today 'rock.'He knows how to work a stage and an audience. I would love to see him with his own show, I'd certainly be there. Keep going Jamie

John and Edward to win, they are the only reason the X Factor is so popular this year. I have never heard so much about one act on any show, they are making Simon Cowell and UTV loads of money because everyone is tuning in to see them..They better be in the final! If they go before that i'll be heading out on a Saturday nite and won't be tuning in! Ice Ice Baby!!!!! Classic.

I cant believe Jamie is gone. What a waste of talent, he was the one i looked forward to most each week. He is so talented and really knows how to get the audience going. I hope someone gives him a record deal because he is just brill. Keep on singing Jamie XX

One thing I really don't get about this whole thing is the idea this competition creates that an act has to be versatile. Most artists are excellent in one area and ok in the rest and thats usually fine, thats why they become a particular style of artist! Kenye West for example, an excellent talented rapper, but an average singer, and thats acceptable. He's a rapper first and foremost. I didn't particularly love Jamie but I don't agree he should be knocked for "only" being a rock singer. If the twins are good at being tweenie ant & dec type rappers then thats their niche, fine! Thats their xfactor. After all, its the "X factor" competition not the "Versatile Singer" competition.

I really disliked everything about Jamie. He is total karaoke, there are better singers in the xfactor. I would love to see Jedward go this week, I'm getting fed up of them now. Yes they are funny but they cant sing and one of them cannot dance! Olly to win, he is amazing and Stacey would be my second choice. I reckon Lloyd might go tonight. God knows what twists will happen though!
