The X Factor - Rumours, Lies & Betting

Grrrr for rumours and lies. I've heard so many celebrity names thrown around this week that I'm not sure what to believe at this stage. But three names keep cropping up so we'll take it that they are the special guests for this week.

Boybands and Bling
Rihanna is set to make an appearance... we think!OK, so we're taking the most recent 'X Factor' leak as gospel. If that is the case then the show should be taken over by Irish people this weekend. We should see Boyzone, Westlife (and Eoghan) flying the flag for us, while Rihanna is also rumoured to be making an appearance. So it's Eoghan with Boyzone, Alexandra with Westlife and JLS with Rihanna (if we're to believe what we read in the papers). For me it seems a little odd to partner a boyband with a male solo singer but maybe Eoghan wanted to do a Boyzone number and requested the lads, I don't know (I only gossip about these things). Rihanna and JLS should work really well I think, especially after hearing their version of 'Umbrella', and Westlife better start eating their Weetabix if they want their harmonies to rise above the powerhouse that is Alexandra.

All Bets Are Off…
Alexanda is currently favourite to win.To use one of Simon's favourite phrases: "All bets are off"… now if I could work an "arguably" and a "potentially" into that sentence then we'd be laughing! It's tight in the betting stakes, with a few bookmakers even pulling betting on the final of the show, but most are offering odds which place Alexandra as the favourite, followed closely by JLS, with Eoghan drifting out to third place. (How did that happen?) I still think it will all depend on the performances on the night. People can be swayed by a fantastic version of a track that they love or by the murdering of that same tune. Time will tell.

Such a Shame, I Say Such a Shame…
I say, I say...No, I'm not turning into Fred Elliot just yet… but isn't it a shame that this year you don't get to hear all three contestants' versions of the winning single before you vote for a winner. I liked hearing the different takes on the same track. I don't know what the logic of this decision is but I'm sure Simon has his reasons… he always does!

Comments:

Grrrr again. I've just written a new blog on the updated 'possible' guests and then what does Simon Cowell do? He goes and says that it's never too late for Robbie Williams to join the guest line-up for Saturday night! It is too late Simon. I've just written my second blog on the subject - a bit of consideration wouldn't go astray! Now I like Robbie as much as the next girl but all this chopping and changing is driving me mad. A decision please people! Is that too much to ask? (Oh and I'm not buying this leak business - Simon is feeding fake guests to the press... I know it!).

The Robbie thing is such crap, not obly do Take that use the possibility of a renunion to gain publicity and generate hype, but now Simon is junping on the band wagon too. Robbie will never return and if he was why would he use The X factor for his comeback?

According to digital spy rhianna has pullled out and has been replaced by beyonce who will sing with alexandra and westlife with JLS. Who cares about eoghan, dont want him to win!!!!

I think that you wont get to hear them singing the song because I dont think Alex would be very good at that song so that's to her advantage! i hope she doesnt win! i would love to hear JLS sing hallejuah! i dont tink they would put Beyonce with Alex ??? competition much? Screaming and shouting about one another?? ridiculous! Can i just say, Linda McGee, well done on all the blogs you've written. I really enjoy them.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that Robbie would line-up with Take That. It's as good a forum as any for his comeback (if he's planning one) and his name has been banded about for joining the panel of judges next year. Hopefully Alex will win; anyone but Eoghan... when he ran up and huggged Diana last week in the middle of her performance I had a cushion wedged to my face for a good ten minutes (for cringne purposes.. and to stop the overflow of vommit)..

Thanks for the kind comments but the blog wouldn't be anything without all the great interaction, arguing and scrapping that goes on here in the comment section. Right, I'm off to start counting down the hours to X Factor time... Have a good weekend.

Thank god it wasn't Eoghan!!! Alex deserved her win

To be very honest alex deserved to win it, overall she was never in the bottom 2 and it is true that no one in the bottom 2 every won the x factor, but one thing is the spot light was taken off her at the start of the shows by diana because there was such a hype about her then when that faded alex came to the fore front with of version of toxic & listen and then people took note of actually how good she is... she is world class there is not doubt, and she will be a massive star congrad alex
