The X Factor - Bye, Bye Jedward!

We all knew it had to happen some time but I was still gutted to John and Edward leave The X Factor this week. The show just won't be the same with their very particular brand of entertainment. I miss them already!

Bye Bye Jedward
Jedward wave goodbye to the show.It seemed that no matter where you went over the last few months, everyone had something to say about Jedward. The comments were sometimes good, sometimes bad and, no matter what you thought of the twins' performances, you'd have to credit them with handling all the attention they received really well. It can't be easy to face constant criticism from the judges and booing from the audience and still get up there every week and entertain the audience at home, winning over more and more people each week. I wasn't a massive fan of the twins when they first auditioned for the show but as the weeks went on I really warmed to them. No more Jedward hairstyles at The X Factor! Boo!Every week I'd be dying to see what kind of routine they'd come up with, what they'd be wearing and what the judges would say to them. And I have to say that I think that lads deserve a lot of respect for just getting on with it all and ignoring the nastiness that they so often had to put up with. I don't think we've seen the last of Jedward! (Gutted too that we didn't get to see them demanding their lions for their next stage performance!)

Shocker!
Poor Olly was in the bottom two for the first time this week. What was Olly Murs doing in the bottom two this week? I can't understand why people aren't voting for him. If I could vote he'd get my vote every week. I think he's a brilliant performer. He's got the whole package - great voice, natural stage presence and some fantastic dance moves. Are the public just not digging him or did people think he was safe and didn't need their votes? Either way, I hope people vote for him next week. I'd love to see him getting to the final.

No more second chances
Next week it's all about the public vote, which is good in a way but it also means that there are no more second chances. Previously an act that was placed at the bottom of the public vote could have been saved by the judges, now there's no lifeline - so we'll just have to hope that the public get it right from now on and that there are no more shocks in store.

Getting better and better
Joe keeps getting better and better. For me Stacey and Joe are going from strength to strength each week. I loved both of their performances this week. Lloyd also impressed me this week. I thought that he was poor the last few weeks and looked like he was really struggling with the songs that he was given but maybe a haircut and a change of song was all he needed. He appeared to be much more comfortable this week, really getting into the performance and singing much better than he did any other week. Danyl's song choice was also good but I'm afraid I'm still not feeling it. Maybe he'll change my mind next week when he unleashes all his dance moves on us!

And a word or two for Subo, Mariah, Dermot and Holly!
Mariah chats to Dermot!Great to see Susan Boyle and Mariah Carey on The Results Show this week and thumbs up that they both spoke to Dermot after their performances! Speaking of Dermot, fair play to him for sticking up for John and Edward again this week. It's probably difficult for him to give out to the audience while they're sitting right there in front of him but he doesn't seem to care. And also we have to mention Holly - she's getting stuck in way more this year, asking the tough questions, not only to the judges but also to the contestants (poor little Lloyd seems to find the questions hard-going though). At first I wasn't sure about the new format of The Xtra Factor but now I'm loving the new elements, especially the judges' grilling! And a word for fashion... how gorgeous was that black dress that Holly was wearing on Saturday night? Far nicer than Cheryl's Minnie Mouse look I think!

Comments:

Fair play to Dermot he is the only one bar Louis who stood up to the booing audience. You could tell he was annoyed at Danni for her ridiculous "singing competition" remark. She is fast becoming Louis Walsh! Dermot has been so entertaining as host this year. I keep going on about Louis but he is a disgrace. Him and his bloody rulebook. The sooner they replace him and Danni as judges the better the show will be. I think Olly being in the bottom two is a once off. I reckon ppl thought he was safe and didn't vote. He will go all the way and win.

Glad to see the back of John and Edward. Annoying and talentless, they didn't belong in a singing contest. I don't agree with the booing however. A lot of people in that audience are adults who should know better. Olly was in the bottom two for one reason; because not many people would know the song he sang. At the end of the day, the X Factor is a glorified karaoke contest and they have to sing songs that people know. I think Simon wants Danyl to win, he gets the best song every week and that's no coincidence. And one last thing, Danni Minogue is so annoying, the quicker Simon gets rid of her the better. I was enjoying the X Factor up to now, but the way it's turning out is beginning to grate on me.

Yeah better olly to be in bottom 2 this wk as it will make the public realise that they need 2 keep votin for him! If it was next wk he cud be gone cause no judges 2 save him. I really want olly to win. Only wish i cud vote for him.....

Posted by ruth on November 23, 2009 at 11:14 AM GMT #

Olly to win, it's an absolute disgrace he was in the bottom two. I didnt like Jedward, but I thought they were entertaining and I dont think they desreved to go on Sunday. I think Lloyd and Danyl should have been in the bottom two. Joe has a very good voice, but does anybody else find him irritating??? There's something I can't quite put my finger on... ... ...

Posted by Amy on November 23, 2009 at 11:42 AM GMT #

What a FARCE! Lloyd should have been gone. The guy cannot sing to save his life. At least Jedward brought the entertainment factor to the show and without them it is no longer enjoyable. Everyone else is just plain dull. I hope they become more successful than whoever wins the show, no matter what they do.

Posted by Sarah on November 23, 2009 at 11:46 AM GMT #

Joe to win, he is absolutely the best singer in the competition. He delivers week after week without any fuss. Everyone is talking about Olly or Stacey but in my opinion Joe or Danyl are far better singers. Glad Jedward went, not before time.

Posted by Helen on November 23, 2009 at 12:03 PM GMT #

dannii is the only judge that actually speaks the truth and calls it how she sees it, fair enough she dragged it out a little bit last night but give the girl some credit for at least being honest. really sad when jedward were singing boyzone, they knew quite well they'd be going ahead of olly so there was no need for all the booing, thought it was really uncalled for. danyl was kinda out of tune on sat and i really think Lloyd should go this wk, ok he wasn't bad on sat but it's stepping up now and he needs to make way for the real singers and entertainers. stacey olly and joe for the final!! dannii is really turning it up in the fashion stakes, definitely the best dressed judge.

Posted by mary m on November 23, 2009 at 12:28 PM GMT #

I didn't want Jedward to get the place of any of the really good singers left in the show so I was disgusted that Lloyd stayed in when they went. I have to say that i'd have sent Danyl home before them too, like Linda, just can't like him for some reason, maybe becasue his smile doesn't reach his eyes, he's so disgenuine looking. Love Olly (to win) but have to say Joe is super, but I do think he'd be a star on Westend / Broadway type stuff though rather than contemporary music, he's got that wow musical voice needed for that.

i love jedward the're so unbelievable amazing and funny! i hope PLEASE that they keep on singing or do whatever as long as i can see them on tv! if i could vote theyd get it everyweek. i love them and miss them! =(

I guess it was time for Jedward to go. I've enjoyed them, but they had a fair run! I'm usually a big Olly fan but this week and last week his vocals have been less than impressive - and some of his dancing is getting a bit cheesey. As for the judges, i thought Dannii was 100% right to ask whether it was a singing competition - and showed her integrity by judging fairly rather than just getting revenge on Simon. Finally.. never thought i'd say it.. but i'm enjoying Louis this year! He's quite fun!

Posted by Kevin on November 23, 2009 at 01:01 PM GMT #

I did not think Olly's vocals were that good. Yes he can move and yes, he can perform but the voice is just not that great. I also get annoyed that he just wants to be famous. He rarely mentions the love of singing. He keeps going on about being a popstar and being famous. Soem of the others just want to sing. They'll alwasy get my vote over Olly. Sorry but I just don't get it!!!

I'm sick of people saying its a singing contest ! I agree it focuses more on singing than other reality shows but they called in "X Factor" because they were fed up with singers with no personalities auditioning. The majority of the finalists are boring and dull !

Posted by 192.168.24.19 on November 23, 2009 at 03:22 PM GMT #

Poor Little Jedward! Not really interested in XFactor any more this year! Dannii is Hot! Joe seems like a 'stepford wife' to me! Too perfect,he probably bakes cookies all day with that demented smile on his face!

Posted by Found on November 23, 2009 at 03:56 PM GMT #

This country should be proud of Jedward. The fact that they put up with that barrage of abuse every week from that obnoxious bunch in the audience alone. I've lost total interest now in the x factor now that they are gone. They're the only contestants with fun and personality, the rest don't have a personality between them. Holly willoughby won't know who to talk about now on the xtra factor. Will miss you Jedward!

Posted by Gillian on November 23, 2009 at 04:26 PM GMT #

Think if you listen back to Olly's performance on Saturday night, he absolutely deserved to be in the bottom two. Boring and drab display to say the least. Though he is usually very good. Stacey is too similar to Alexandra and Leona so Cowell will make sure she doesn't win. Danyl is still the most unlikeable x-factor contestant and can't win. Lloyd is atrocious (Louis has had him weighed up since the start). So I guess, put yer money on Olly or Joe. Joe, better singer but boring as hell. Olly, great entertainer but might just be getting too big for his boots - all the "sexy" talk the other night was annoying to say the least (and he was about AS sexy as the pimple on his cheek)...there's my tuppence. ps. I'm devastated about Jedward

Posted by Susanna on November 23, 2009 at 05:49 PM GMT #

Why all the abuse of Louis? He made the show this year by spotting the twins and ensuring they got a good run on X Factor. I for one will not be watching the dull roll-out of bores that remain after the exit of Jedward. Louis brought fun to season six and methinks X Factor has now peaked and will never garner as much interest ever again. Also, why does everyone suddenly think it's a singing competition? I thought it was 'who has the X Factor?' And boy, do those twins have it in droves. Good on Jedward, they were a bright spark in a miserable period and I only hope they can capitalise on their massive success in the UK.

Posted by Ollie on November 23, 2009 at 07:28 PM GMT #

Total fix - they couldn't risk having anyone else in the bottom 2 with Jed in case the other 1 got voted off nd not the JEDS - x factor has lost all credability after this year!

Posted by Una on November 23, 2009 at 07:47 PM GMT #

Thank god them two are gone they have not got a note in their heads which was proven when they murdered Boyzones song last night!! Let the real competition begin!!

Posted by DeiseGirl on November 23, 2009 at 09:22 PM GMT #

I think Danni is the only GOOD and Fair judge, the other ones are rubbish, she made the right comments at the right time and made the right decision.. Simon I hope you have learnt from Danni to be a decent person.

Posted by m victoria on November 23, 2009 at 09:42 PM GMT #

Danni wasnt so critical of herself when her singing career was a flop. No Jedward cant sing but they were highly entertaining and behaved so nicely in a world that can be so much the other way. Lets hope they do well what ever they choose.

Posted by Catherine lynch on November 24, 2009 at 01:13 AM GMT #

@m victoria - the problem i have with Danni is that at the start of the X Factor she said Yes to Jedward and was putting them through the early stages of the competition. Ever since they knocked Lucie out she developed her "Is this a singing competition?" attitude. She changes her opinion when it suits her.Even when she voted Jedward out on Sunday she didnt have a single nice thing to say about them at all. Bitter woman.

Posted by Paul on November 24, 2009 at 09:29 AM GMT #

@Aaron, it's not a singing contest, it's called X-Factor, they're looking for someone wtih that special something. Joe may have a good voice, but he's boring as hell, the twins may not have had the best voices but they were the most entertaining out of the lot! Aprt from Olly there's not much left in terms of entertainment...shame..

Posted by tallulah on November 24, 2009 at 01:11 PM GMT #

Olly to win....He should never have been in the bottom two.....Why is Llyod still in it?? He doesnt even come close to the others, he's only in it because all 14-15 yr old girls want to marry him!! Jedward were so entertaining I would say the ratings will drop a good bit now that they are gone!!

Posted by Rachel on November 24, 2009 at 02:36 PM GMT #

The twins will be missed..Danni is so sour, its true what some of the comments say its called the x factor coz its about havin something special, a bit more than just a good singer and danni should get over the fact that lucy and rachael just didnt have it..and as for bad singing.. Danni herself was known to be rubbish..she was bad recorded so hate to imagine what she was like live singing, she brings little to the show and should go next year

Posted by michelle on November 24, 2009 at 03:40 PM GMT #

I am gutted that Jedward are gone. They really made the show this year and it wil never be the same again! Won't bother watching anymore. They were great and kept going back out week after week no matter what abuse was thrown at them. They seem like genuine nice lads. They were great ambassadors for our country. The rest of the contestants are soooo boring!! So don't think I'll watch it. Really don't care who wins either. As for Danni, she is so bitter and nasty. I don't think she is agood role model to anyone and is it not her job to mentor and guide these kids?? I would love to see the back of her!

Posted by Fiona on November 25, 2009 at 01:10 PM GMT #

I would just like to say Jedward had a lot of guts to go up on stage week after week and get booed and abuse thrown at them!! I know they were not the best singers but I think they should be commended on how they presented themselves!! I would also like to be able to vote on next years show and show our irish acts some support!! In my eyes Jedward are winners

Posted by Lisa on November 25, 2009 at 03:48 PM GMT #

I LOVE Jedward they never should have left but they are amazing and should be proud of themselves!xx

Posted by Lisa on November 25, 2009 at 05:41 PM GMT #

as long as lloyd doesn't win now it's ok,if you graphed his voice it would be a straight line.i love olly but his last 2 performances were weak vocally. danyl is possibly the only one who could make it in the us and uk.joe has such a large smile he makes me nervous but granted a wonderful voice, stacey is great as long as she is singing

Posted by olive on November 26, 2009 at 04:16 PM GMT #

Cheryl cole is THE only thing worth watching on this. Gorgeous, disarming, irresistable. Whatever the last girl'sname is, she'll win, best singer by far. Olly, all round package so might sneak it.

Posted by John on November 26, 2009 at 08:06 PM GMT #

Jedward, though they can't sing, were a breath of fresh air every week. However their exit is timely and they have achieved what most would hope for ...column inches ! Who knows whats in store for them but one thing's for sure they won't disappear from public view. As for the remaining contestants, LLoyd is for the chop this week ( I hope ). He can't sing and has no personality. Olly should go, he is so overrated and Danyel, though a great singer seems to lack any kind of warmth. That leaves Stacey and Joe, both turned in fantastic performances over the last two weeks. Its one of these two I hope but what do I know ? I'm not a teenybopper voting for LLOyd on looks only. All bets are off !

Hi.I'm a massive fan of Jedward cause im from dublin . Ijust wanna say sad 2 see them gone . Ireland luues you!!!!!!!!!!!!! including mexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ever since I saw Jedward, I LOVED!!! them. I was a little upset when they left but I knew that it wasn't the end. Apparently there going for a role in the " The Simpsons and The Hobbit" and I'll say they'll be great. I'm Irish so I'm proud that there Irish. If I prey enough I will defenitly meet them. I fell like jumping every time I think about them, there so funny. Also I'm twelve and in my school play I'm playing John and were singing "Ghostbusters theme" It'll be great
