The Clinic - Episode Seven

Finally some romance for Daisy and a happy-ever-after for Lorcan. Could things be calming down at Clarence Street? Eh, no – there's also a kidnapping and some more dodgy dealings from Dan. Business as usual then!

Finally!
Finally some romance for Ruairí.After weeks of flirting, sideways glances and sneaky compliments, Daisy and Ruairí have finally realised that they're meant to be together (OK, well not quite but they're getting there!). It was nice to see everyone else in Clarence Street in on their secret affair too, with Grace and Patrick doing some not-so-subtle prompting where Ruairí was concerned. In fact the only person who seems to begrudge them a bit of happiness was Dan, who seems to want to stand in Daisy's way where fun is concerned.

New Lows
New lows for Dan!Just when we thought that Dan couldn't get any nastier he stooped to new lows this week, first stabbing Lorcan in the back and then blatantly lying to Daisy's face. And if they knew that he had gambled away his shares in the clinic they'd probably be even more fuming with him than they are now. But does Dan even care? It really doesn't seem like he does. He's back to only worrying about himself. I have to say I was a bit shocked at how he was prepared to talk a patient into having surgery just so that he could use her money to pay off his debts. It's a new low for Dan.

Team Lorcan
Peace at last for Lorcan. After all the blackmailing and bribing he has endured it seems fitting that Lorcan should finally get a happy-ever-after. Revealing his secret was not the big drama he predicted - well, it was for a day or two in the media and amongst his patients but his colleagues, friends and family were all prepared to back him up when it mattered, even taken a stand against Dan, never an easy thing to do.

The Abduction
Just as things were beginning to quieten down at Clarence Street the abduction added a bit of drama to proceedings. I predict that Daisy and Grace may have gotten themselves in too deep this time by trying to help the girls at their clinic. Things could be about to get worse for them if the gang decide on revenge.

Hi Maire just checked the listings and this week's episode seems to be repeated on Thursday on RTÉ One at 12.40 ie the middle of the night! Alternatively you could check it out on the RTÉ Player, www.rte.ie/player

Is there a DVD available of the previous few seasons? I looked on Amazon but only the first 3 seasons seem to be available. I came home from Australia earlier this year, so this is the first Clinic I've seen. I'd like to see the rest now! I'd heard from friends back home what a great series it was, but I didn't think it could be THAT good! How wrong I was. I'm so surprised. It is world class in my opinion, and I've seen a lot round the world. I'm assuming that there will be another season next year, is that right? It is just brilliant. Only criticism is the unrealistic nightclub! Can't believe all the staff would hang out there! But that aside - fantastic RTE! Good to be home. Thanks.

Hi Maire, I'd recommend you watch it on the RTE player, its really handy and if you switch to full screen then its as good as tv, stick in earphones and enjoy all to yourself! At a time that suits you....ie not the middle of the night!Oh and no ads too! :)

Hi Maggie, Seasons 1-4 are currently available on DVD. You can also watch episodes for this season on the RTÉ player for 21 days after they are broadcast, like Noelle says above.
