The Clinic - Episode Seven
Lorcan's secret is out. Alice's true colours are beginning to show and Dan's up to his old tricks. So it was a week of life-saving, seduction, obsessing and moving on for the staff of the Clarence Street Clinic.
Dangerous territory for Alice
There are a lot of addictive personalities in 'The Clinic' these days. Cara is addicted to mothering people, to dangerous extremes. Liam is addicted to prescription drugs, which cost him his livelihood. Ruairi is addicted to an engaged woman who doesn't love him. And now Alice seems addicted to Dan, not just addicted but dangerously obsessed. She's sneaking into his apartment (using Cathy's key - so wrong) and making a play for him at every given opportunity. Now, to be fair, he's hardly fighting her off but even dodgy Dan might be biting off more than he can chew here. Alice could turn into quite a headache for him. She seems to have an agenda of her own and I wouldn't like to be the one getting in her way.
Desperate Dan
And just when you want to start hating him again for returning to his old womanising ways (not only is he taking nurse Alice to bed but he's also giving Cathy's cousin Daisy the odd wink or two), Dan pulls a good deed out of the bag by choosing to intervene in the ill baby's case and rushing a life-saving operation through, using his contacts for good instead of his usual dodgy dealings.
Lorcan the Hero?
Lorcan is a hard one to figure. This week he got to play the hero but at a serious cost - he may now have infected a patient with HIV (albeit while saving her life) and his secret is also out of the bag. But will Clodagh keep a lid on it for his sake or will she spill the beans? I wish Lorcan would just trust her a little more. Maybe then he would seem a bit more likeable. Although he's a good guy there's something far too guarded about him. I know he has a secret but it would be good to see a bit more personality from Lorcan. It's hard to warm to his current Mr Serious.
