Strictly Come Dancing - Done goody but done!
So week two down and it’s Richard Dunwoody who got the boot. I must say even though he was a rubbish dancer he came across really well and worked very hard and it is unfortunate to see the great Lilia go so early. It was probably the right choice on the night although Craig was nothing to write home about! He references to dancing being like toffee - nice but hard - appear to be true in his case and I can’t see him lasting too long.
Clearly Jo was the worst dancer of the week but I am so glad she is staying at least for a while longer. The woman is fabulous! She looks amazing and has hung out with a rock band for most of her life but apparently has no rhythm! It’s hard to say which dance was worse but I think her Tango probably pipped it. Her head turns were feeble while in the Rumba she looked as if she was being dragged across the floor. She clearly has won over hard-to-please Brendan who had a right go at Craig for his comments about her. Tess's jaw dropped when the hot-tempered Kiwi described the judge as an idiot in the Green Room after their dance. Expect further fireworks to come!
Craig has come out all guns blazing this series and has been in top form with his comments and like or loathe him the judging panel would be a lot duller without him. Speaking of judges, Alesha did well over the weekend and seemed a little more relaxed and confident with her comments and her pairing with Bruno is working well. Give it another few weeks and I reckon we will hear no more about this subject. Brucie should also give it a rest with the pro-Alesha comments which were more than a little over the top on Friday night. Cringe! Generally he is annoying me and they really need to cut down on his gag time as I am tiring of hearing the sympathy giggles from the audience.
What this weekend proved more than anything else is that Ricky Whittle is the one to beat. He is an amazing natural dancer and has been paired with the very talented Australian dancer, Natalie Lowe. Great chemistry, great choreography and natural ability – injury looks to be the only thing that could prevent him from getting to the final at this point! Zoe Lucker dancing with James Jordan also impressed while I was a little disappointed with Laila Rouass & Anton du Beke. A good dancer but can she become a great dancer? Let’s hope Anton can drag himself away from ‘Hole In The Wall’ long enough to get her there!
Finally a word about Natalie Cassidy – a shaky start but the girl’s got rhythm and she really is the one I would like to see excel! You go Sonya!
