Lost 'Because you left' - Episode One , 'The Lie' - Episode Two, Season 5
After months of being lost without it I feared being lost with it but not so. Less then two hours and two episodes later, JJ Abrams had us back on the familiar unfamiliar island and amongst former friends.
Season Four ended with the clanger of Locke's unexpected funeral, leaving us once again asking how on earth 'Lost' creators were going to explain their way out of that one. However as usual they have, whilst answering that riddle, they've given us plenty of new fodder to chew over.
If you too enjoy analysing every detail of the show you may wonder why Daniel Faraday dragged the stressed out beach posse back to the hatch. He said he was searching for a manmade object so that they could use it to navigate their way through the island's ever-shifting time-zones. The camp was man-made and it could have fulfilled the same purpose without hauling the bedraggled crew on a needless jaunt. Also Sun has grown into the strong, independent woman that she was suppressing during her early island days. The question is whether her moral compass is still pointed towards good or if revenge has morphed her into an
Sayid played a stormer being dragged around á la 'Weekend at Bernies' and Cheech Marin seemed to enjoy all the toing and froing despite the fact that he never did get to eat that brunch.
Next week's 'Jughead' episode will no doubt follow Desmond and Penny en route to the UK and Kate, Aaron, Jack, Sayid, Ben, Sun and Hurley preparing to head back to the island. What is Ben planning? Is Jin still alive? Where is Claire? Will the island let Locke be reborn? Here's to being lost in 'Lost' once more.
