Big Brother - Is There Life after Bea?

What I notice about housemates in their post-eviction interviews is that they normally redeem themselves. The most unpleasant contestants often appear like they are different people when they get out and are forced to watch their own bad behaviour. Jade Goody’s post-eviction interview from Celebrity Big Brother is the best example of this. Not so in Bea’s case however last Friday night. Incredulity is the best word to describe Bea’s reaction to the crowd and Davina and the panel’s comments.

At no point was there a flicker of embarrassment or evidence that she was prepared to climb down from the high horse she has been perched on for weeks. I came away with the impression that firstly this is not a pleasant person and secondly that she is indifferent to the opinions of any one around her as she seems to value her own opinion above all.

Anyway off she goes on her merry way and good luck to her but I suspect the immediate result of this will be the lack of any decent action in the house for the last few weeks. Big Brother clearly senses the same thing and immediately tried to counteract that by getting out the baby-oil and sending the housemates into a paddling pool for a bit of healthy wrestling. It didn’t do much for me I must say and let’s face it there are few men in the house, and especially the hairy ones, who can make baby oil and dodgy swimming trunks look attractive. Marcus I am talking to you!

Marcus summed up the difficulty facing BB as we wind our way to the finale of this thing in the diary room last night. He is bored having the same conversations with the same people over and over again – things have got so bad that he is losing his taste for drink. The next couple of weeks will be a hard slog but it will be even harder if Marcus goes this week. My money’s on David and really would he be missed?

Say what you want about Bea but her departure has left a gaping hole and many hours of television yet to fill!
