Desperate Housewives ‘The Story of Lucy and Jessie’

Edie's days are numbered if Dave has his wayDirty Dave - Do it already. The dragging out of the revenge-seeking Dave storyline is bringing out the worst in me. ‘Do it’ are the words swimming incessantly around my head every time he gives us one of his ‘Ha, ha I’m going to kill you, and your loved ones, Mike’ looks. Just as well they’re heading into the woods next week as these can’t be healthy impulses.

Locking Lips
As for Susan and her lesbian wannabe-lover, Jessie, the kiss was funny but not nearly as amusing as Gabby nonchalantly recreating it for her. Defo one for the lads, boyfriends and hubby’s who patiently tune in with us each week. Swoosie Kurtz is a great addition to the cast and let’s hope her cameo is extended to include some great storylines.

Susan is attracting a lot of attention just not how she'd hopedLuscious Lucy
Carlos proved once again that he’s not the callous or superficial type however this time his virtuous trait could work against Gabby. Good job then she’s just as calculating outside the boardroom as Lucy is within it. Lynette is a worthy opponent for her conniving though and, although a little cut-throat, the two friends agree terms, enabling them to continue their respective scheming. Impressive.

Ageism Action
Every now and again, the DH team touch on an important real-life social issue – albeit in a tongue and cheek way. Lynette facing down ageist issues, as she attempted to re-enter her former work place, is a great one. Highlighting the fact that it’s illegal to ask a would-be employee their age, Lynette eventually realised that age was an advantage for that particular job and by lying made herself even more suitable but that’s the obligatory DH tongue in cheek routine. Let’s be grateful that they at least they highlighted the issue in the first place.

Stand by Your Man
Orson is keeping Bree on her toesOrson has finally found a way to halt Bree’s emasculating of him and their marriage. We’ve seen her make the same mistakes with past men and as he’s such great viewing, here’s to her taking some large steps to avoid loosing this keeper. I don’t know which was more entertaining, his swiping of the Bernadette Peter ‘Gypsy’ mug or Bree getting into a kafuffle with Juanita over the controversial Mexican ornament.

Next week
Will Dave have to string out his plan until breaking point or is next week D-day? Although the answer is probably in the episode title: ‘A Spark, To Pierce the Dark’ which more then hints that Dave’s gun is going to see the light of day, so to speak. As Edie gets closer to finding out what he’s up to, much closer if she gets that fax, will she race out to the woods to save Mike, Katherine and, in so doing, her marriage? Possibly not, as we know that she’s leaving the series which will surely be a great dramatic loss. Drop us a line and share your thoughts below.
