Celebrity Big Brother - Last Legs!
There comes a point in every series of 'Big Brother', and the celebrity version of same, when you tire of seeing the same tasks being trotted out again and again, year after year. Although there have been some great tasks down through the years, once is enough to see any of them, except maybe the OK Go video re-enactment! That's why it's always nice to see something different and the nursing home idea was just the ticket.
Fun at Last Legs
I loved the idea of making the housemates dress up in old-fashioned cardigans and grey their hair, casting aside their vain aspirations to each look the best (pretty much all of them have been guilty of that this year, well maybe with the exception of Heidi… for most of the rest of them it's been designer sunglasses, labels, fake tan and mascara all the way). So it was great to see a little down-time from the glamour of their celebrity world.
For me Sisqo nailed his old character the best. He was brilliant when it came to embracing the task, always the entertainer while still sticking to the rules. Speaking of rules, could they have picked a worse pair to man the kitchen and act as carers? Stephanie and Ivana were both behaving like they'd never seen the inside of a kitchen before and my heart went out to the housemates who had to eat that pureed 'food' they were dishing up. Stephanie did try to act as the caring, capable nurse but poor Ivana was way out of her depth, so it wasn't surprising when Sov decided to give her a piece of her mind. OK, so she didn't go about it the right way but I kind of agreed with her. Ivana is such a stickler for the rules, it must be annoying.
Countdown
I vote that the housemates should be allowed to play Countdown every day… maybe just to see what Vinnie will say to the Countdown champ next… but also because it's the perfect thing to do when you're stuck sitting around the house. How many students have the 'Will I watch Countdown or go to lectures?' dilemma every day? (or maybe that was just me and my lazy housemates!). Vinnie's jibes were hilarious but, in fairness, wouldn't you have let them win if you knew they were competing for food? And of course Countdown provided another opportunity for Ivana to rant on and on about how she would have done better than the panel… It's only a gameshow Ivana and I'm thinking you're very luck to have immunity this week!
Get a grip Stephen
What has come over Stephen? I thought that last night's rant about poor Nicola was a little excessive. I'm with Vinnie. I think she's a sweetheart too and I don't believe that she's out to get anyone, not even paranoid Stephen. The way he was talking last night was slightly scary. He really has the daggers out for Nicola and I don't think she deserves it at all. I hope the public get behind her. That said, Stephen is proving very entertaining this year. I love his little lads' chats with Vinnie and Alex.
The eviction
Looking at this week's nominations, I'm not surprised that Katia, Sov and Heidi have found themselves facing the chop, for very different reasons. Katia has really been messing Jonas around. Sov, while harmless I think, tends to lose the cool every now and then and Heidi, well, she just has far too much to say for herself when it comes to slagging other people off, very loudly! Plus, she's not that entertaining. I wouldn't be gutted to see her go.
