Big Brother - Is a bed just a bed?!
Endless talk about beds from Bea, a lesson in aquatic life from Dogface and a lecture on health and safety from Marcus… and we thought it was going to be dull without Freddie!
Freddie breaks free
So Freddie has finally broken free of his Halfwit name, the confines of the Big Brother house and the people who just couldn't stop stirring things up with him and he seems the better for it. As soon as Freddie walked out through those doors on Friday night he seemed instantly happier, like a weight had just been lifted off his shoulders. He was in great form with Davina and her posse (must say, I don't really like the new eviction interview format - there was more time for bitching when it was just a one-on-one interview!). The point is, we could see the Freddie we all liked at the beginning slowly emerging again so maybe it's a good thing for him that he left when he did.
Could she Bea any more annoying?
What was the story with Bea and those beds last night?! If you want to move beds then just move beds. There's no need to spend several hours discussing it and then, when people get sick of listening to you, paint yourself as some sort of hard-done-by victim. If I were Siavash I'd have moved too, just to get away from that incessant yapping. Enough already Bea! And I'm glad Charlie got a taster of the real Bea too. He's spent the last week sticking up for her when everyone else was going on about her drama-queen antics and now, after a messy practical joke, he gets to see over-reacting, listen-to-me Bea and I can't say that I'm sorry for him. You make your bed and all that... (sorry for the all too obvious pun, sometimes I just can't help myself!)
The weeks ahead
After listening to Dogface tell Rodrigo about how dolphins kill sharks and hearing Marcus' rant about the health hazards of the Big Brother house, I'm a bit fearful for the content of the show over the next few weeks. Will Lisa's late-night (and oh-so-secretive) hugs in the garden seem like the most sincere thing in there? Will David's moral lessons inspire us all to take a long look at our own attitudes? Will kids be inspired to go into the hairdressers and request a 'Marcus' do, after seeing the new press-shots of the self-proclaimed house leader? Will the Queen actually agree to go in there as a last-minute housemate after she sees how dull the show is becoming without Freddie? (OK, we're getting carried away now, but I'm intrigued as to where the entertainment value is going to come from this week and next…)
The superfans!
But for now I'm actually more interested in what's happening at Johnny and Neil's house than I am in the real Big Brother housemates. How did Freddie's departure go down at the lads' house and will Bea's bed-hopping have swayed Neil in favour of Johnny's thinking? (If you don't know what I'm talking about have a read of the comments on Friday's blog entry here - I think they'll make you laugh!).
