Big Brother - And Now The End is Near!
I was a little unimpressed with the amateur dramatics of Siavash last night to be honest. I would like him to win but the last minute wobble was surprising and probably did for his chances of taking home the not so big prize.
Let’s face it if a housemate genuinely wants to leave they are allowed to do so and Siavash’s heart didn’t really seem to be in it. He articulated the conflict he had himself by saying the house was addictive which meant, “yup I think it would be cool to be that guy who ducked out the back five minutes from the end forfeiting the chance of winning but really I’d quiet like to hang around just in case.”
So hang around he did and then he fibbed to the housemates when they questioned his long absence. I am still backing him to win, although I don’t think he will, because he is without doubt the most interesting one left. While he was in the diary room wrestling with his choice, the rest of the group seemed totally lost without him and called an early halt to the party.
Someone who did win a few brownie points last night was David (I never thought I would say that). His reaction to receiving a birthday card from Vivienne Westwood was genuinely touching. The fashion designer seems an unlikely idol for David but the card seems to have had huge significance for him and you know when he said he would treasure it for ever that he actually will. I also liked his list of birthday party requests – vol-au-vents, pizza, chips and balloons. He was like a giddy kid giving his mam a list of requirements for his party. Perhaps if Lisa had gone earlier he may have had more of an opportunity to be his own man in the house.
And so that’s the end of that, Sophie is likely to win and no doubt we will all have forgotten most of their names by Christmas at which time we will be totally absorbed by ‘The X Factor’ and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. I hope the bosses at BB can pull it out of the bag next year before giving the show a decent burial.
Will I be watching tonight? I will flick over to see who wins but I reckon Tubs gets my vote with ‘The Late Late’. Sorry Davina!
