Video: RTÉ Online - Elections 2009
Wednesday, 27 May 2009As regular readers of this blog will know, we at RTÉ have been looking for your input for our coverage of the forthcoming elections. So far a slew of questions have been sent to us through both Twitter and email - every one of them has been forwarded onto our presenters. Mark and Miriam will be using them as part of their research before the Prime Time election specials that they will be presenting in the coming days.
Miriam's local election special is coming live from Cork County Hall tomorrow night (Thurs 28th May 2009), she will be putting questions to local election candidates from the main political parties and independents from across the city and county. Of course she will be challenging them on how their party policies will help determine our futures. Do you have any questions you want her to ask these people? Send them in to primetime@rte.ie or Twitter.
Mark will be presenting our European elections special next Tuesday (2nd June) from RTÉ in Dublin.
So do tune in to see our presenters questioning political hopefuls with some your input.
Thanks for your Twitter comments, blog comments and emails so far, keep ‘em coming.
But now - drum roll please - you can also submit video questions for the Euro election special, going to air this coming Tuesday.
That’s right, we'd love if you could get on your webcam and record yourself for maybe 30 or 40 seconds either telling us what issues will shape the way you vote, or alternatively asking a question that could be put to politicians from a party of your choice.
If you do record a video you can either upload it to Youtube and make it a response to the video above - or upload it to a video-hosting website of your choice and email the link to primetime@rte.ie. If you have any problems doing either of those, send us an email and we'll try to help you resolve them.
Mark is looking at using the videos on either Prime Time or Campaign Daily, but of course it will depend on the quality of the recording.

It's getting busy in here with polling day looming ever closer so the presenters are struggling to make the time for blog posts - though that's not for the want of trying. Mark hopes to be back tomorrow with news from his travels down the Shannon - he's filming there today, while Miriam should be back on Friday following the events of her election special in the Rebel County.
Remember, email, Twitter, video - get in touch.
