Kevin Loughran

Kevin Loughran

Kevin is from Dunsinaire, Co. Monaghan. He plays for Dundalk Football Club in the left-back position. Kevin supports Celtic and particularly likes Aidan McGeady.

As well as playing soccer at Dundalk FC, Kevin is an All-Ireland Champion in middle distance running. He also plays gaelic for his school, St. Macartan’s College and for Monaghan Harps GAA club.

Joseph Lennon-Maher

Joseph Lennon-Maher

Joseph Lennon is from Castleknock in Dublin. He plays centre back at Crumlin United football club. Joseph (or Joey as he’s called) is a student at Castleknock Community College where he and Gavin Boyne are friends.

Joey loves his food! And his mum is his biggest fan.

Patrick Fitzgerald

Patrick Fitzgerald

Patrick Fitzgerald is from Waterford City. He plays centre back position for Bohemians in Waterford. Patrick goes to De La Salle School – he thinks it’s a great school but would prefer to be at Celtic Youth Academy!

He loves playing football for his club side as there are no stars – everyone supports each other and is down to earth.

Jason Murray

Jason Murray

Jason is from Lucan in Dublin. He plays for St. Patrick’s Athletic FC in Inchicore in Dublin. His position is right-back.

Jason was not able to walk until he was 7. Born with his feet ‘back to front’ he spent some years in a wheelchair. Following corrective surgery Jason learned to walk at the age of 7. Remarkably he only started playing football when he was 8. Being selected in the final 10 for Football’s Next Star is a huge achievement already!

Eoin O'Donovan

Eoin O’Donovan

Eoin is from Cork city. He plays for Roy Keane’s former club, Rockmount AFC in Cork where his position is left-midfield. At the Aviva trial Eoin broke down with cramp twice during the final game but courageously battled on through the pain to claim himself a place in the final ten.

Gareth McDonagh

Gareth McDonagh

Gareth is from Greystones in Co. Wicklow. He started playing at St. Anthony’s in Wicklow and then moved on to St. Joseph’s AFC in Sallynoggin. His position is midfield. Gareth played for the Republic of Ireland against Celtic in the Galway Cup.

He is the baby of his family, or “The Golden Child” as his father calls him. According to Dad, Gareth is obsessed with football – he trains or plays matches almost every day of the week.

Gavin Boyne

Gavin Boyne

Gavin Boyne is from Castleknock in Dublin. He has been playing football since he was 7 and has already had trials with Manchester City, Blackburn and Burnley. Gavin plays centre midfield at Crumlin United FC. He’s a student at Castleknock Community College.

Gavin is leaving home for Glasgow a couple of days before his big sister emigrates to Australia.

Tiarnan McNicholl

Tiarnan McNicholl

Tiarnán is from Glengormley in Belfast. He plays in right midfield at Cliftonville Football Club which is the oldest club in Ireland.

When Tiarnán scored against Everton in the 2010 Milk Cup, he removed his shirt, waved it around his head and jumped on his coach. This memorable celebration made it onto the BBC NI News.

He brought his two grandfathers, grandmother, mum, dad and brother to Limerick trials. His grandfathers haven’t missed him play a match since he was 6 or 7. They’re all very excited about Football’s Next Star as they’re a Celtic-mad family.

Naseem Militti

Naseem Militti

Naseem Militti lives near Grand Canal Dock in Dublin. He plays for Crumlin United. Naseem’s a play-making forward and he dreams about being a professional footballer morning noon and night.

He finds it hard to dedicate himself to school work as he is always thinking about football!

Evan Shine

Evan Shine

Evan Shine lives in Limerick city. He plays for St. Kevin’s FC in Dublin’s north side which means that he travels to Dublin from Limerick 3 times a week so that he can play in the best league in the country.  That’s commitment!

Evan is a striker. His big hope is to get scouted and signed by a professional club.
