Madonna to launch clothing collection

Madonna is set to release her first clothing collection, which will be entitled 'Material Girl'.

She has joined forces with Iconix Brand Group Inc, which is the company behind brands such as Candie's and Badgley Mischka, to launch her own fashion label.

The first collection will be a Junior Range and will launch exclusively in the States in Macy's stores and on Macys.com in August, reports the Marie Claire website.

Madonna's daughter Lourdes helped design the collection, which will consist of clothing, shoes and accessories.

In 2011, Madonna also plans on extending the range to include beauty and fragrance.

Of her latest project, Madonna said: "Joining forces with Iconix to bring my fashion ideas to consumers is very exciting for me."
