Rouge d'Armani

I'm always on the hunt for the perfect red lipstick, and I think I've finally found it.

Giorgio Armani's latest offering, Rouge D'Armani, is one that impresses on all fronts. I've been giving the Rouge 400 a try - it's a bright, true red that makes a real impact.

The texture of the lipstick is wonderful - rich, hydrating and with a really soft, satiny finish. The colour is so bold and vibrant that one coat is enough. I also found that patting the colour on with a finger gave a long lasting and more subtle effect.

For a really gorgeous look that takes inspiration from the 1940s, try out the make-up from the campaign image (photo two).

The face is porcelain and matte, cheeks are bare of blusher or bronzer, and eyes are kept simple with taupe shadow and a thin line of liquid eye liner drawn on the top lashes (skip any winging at the edges). The focus is entirely drawn to the perfect red pout!

For out-and-out glamour, you're not going to find much better than this.
