Those character-building experiences of walking into a record shop as a young teenager, hearing something dark, bass-driven and alluring coming from the speakers and then somehow finding the guts to go up to the counter, squeeze in between the regulars and ask the name of the band come flooding back with Cap Pas Cap's 'Haunted Light'.

Now as then, the small hours are the perfect backdrop for full listens, re-ranking favourites or, indeed, dancing with yourself.

It has been a long wait for the trio's debut, but rather than piling on the tracks to compensate, they keep it to a tight and focussed 10 in 34 minutes, with the energy levels high throughout.

And while the pleasures here may be already known, you're left wanting more of them.
